In 1968, Summit Racing began as a part-time business in Stow, Ohio. It didn't take long for his fellow drag racing enthusiasts to flock to his new startup, which was owned by a young engineer looking for a way to get hop-up parts at a discount. Within a year, the first brick-and-mortar location opened, and business boomed. When the Summit Racing online store opened in 1997, customers could look through the catalog any time of day or night. Today, the company that started as a part-time gig for a racing enthusiast has grown into one of the biggest auto parts dealers in the world.
