A year ago, Jeep announced that a new Compass was coming for the 2026 model year. That vehicle was revealed this past May, but it is not on sale in the U.S. yet due to unstable tariffs on vehicles imported into the country. (The next-gen vehicle is built in Canada.) Kia’s flagship gas-powered SUV, the Telluride, is getting a big update for the 2027 model year, and the South Korean brand has lifted the cover on what we’ll see when it makes its in-person debut at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. We’re not sure where we stand on that idea, but the new Telluride’s look certainly does appear evolutionary instead of revolutionary, in a break from what Kia has done for a lot of its latest designs.

Semi-autonomous hands-free driving technology has been heralded as the future by major automakers. The goal is to take the stress out of driving by allowing people to use tech that lets the car cruise and perform stopping and lane changes while the driver relaxes attentively. However the reality of some of the most popular systems is very different: Crashes, lawsuits and even deaths have sparked a debate of just how safe these systems can be for owners to use.

Oh, goodness — a new sedan! How lovely. Hey, with the indefatigable popularity of the SUV, any refresh, rework or reiteration of the standard sedan is worth celebrating — especially when it’s as visually sharp as the new 2026 Nissan Sentra, which will have a starting price that’s well under $30,000 when it goes on sale (expect to pay just $23,645 for the cheapest Sentra). Great value, but my cheers are slightly unsettled, as that’s just $280 less than the more versatile Kicks SUV.
