Tesla Plans to Add Apple CarPlay to Its Vehicles — Maybe
Tesla is having a problem right now: Its sales are down, and it’s now scrambling to make up for the loss. Combine that with growing Supercharger access for competitors, and the edge that Tesla seems to have had is wearing off. In a surprising move, Tesla is reportedly planning to integrate Apple CarPlay capability into its vehicles, which seems to be a move to help counter those poor sales.

2025 Kia Telluride Review: Rougher Roads Ahead
After driving a top-of-the-line 2025 Kia Telluride SX-Prestige X-Pro, I’m reminded why the Telluride remains so popular — and where it needs to improve.

Electric Cars With the Longest Range
For most of us, having a car means having the freedom to roam, whether that means a quick trip to work or a journey across the continent. If you love taking longer trips but want to buy an electric vehicle, chances are you’re no stranger to range anxiety. Range anxiety is the concern that your EV won’t have enough battery capacity to complete a journey, and it’s a fair one given the work-in-progress state of charging networks in North America.

2026 Nissan Pathfinder: New Tech Helps It Find Its Way
The Nissan Pathfinder sank to the bottom of Cars.com’s most recent 3-Row SUV Challenge due to several misses, such as an ancient infotainment system, unrefined powertrain and cramped third row. It looks like an update for 2026 will fix one of those issues: Nissan is debuting a revised version of the three-row crossover at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show with a large, modern infotainment system with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with revised exterior styling and more premium features.
15-Year Car Loans Aren’t a Thing, But Americans Are Getting More Comfortable With Long-Loan Terms
A wild idea recently started to make the rounds online that many were convinced was true after President Donald Trump floated the idea of a half-century mortgage. Shortly after this announcement, an image that appeared legitimate, bearing both the image and color scheme of an official White House announcement, claimed Trump had directed both the Transportation and Commerce secretaries to work on introducing 15-year auto loans. Thankfully, multiple news outlets have fact-checked the claim and deemed it to be false — and it’s likely for the best as long loan terms are a financial black hole.

Google Maps Now Shows Real-Time Charger Availability for Tesla Superchargers, Electrify America Stations
It’s not just that EVs take longer to “fill up” than gas cars that makes public charging a comparatively onerous task. The fragmented nature of the public-charging ecosystem also complicates EV ownership. Imagine if the nozzles at BP stations only fit some cars, while other cars could only accept Shell, Marathon or Mobil nozzles, and you could only find those stations and pay for your gas through each brand’s dedicated app.

Jeep Kicks Off Yearlong Wrangler Special-Edition Blitz With 2026 Moab 392
Jeep has always been quite liberal with special editions, particularly with its Wrangler SUV. But the brand is celebrating its 85th anniversary in 2026 with an unprecedented series of limited-run Wranglers. On the 12th of the month for the next 12 months, Jeep will debut the next installment in what it’s calling the Twelve 4 Twelve celebration. The series kicks off with the 2026 Wrangler Moab 392 four-door.
2025 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS T-Hybrid Review: Soul, Preserved
Welcome to the most important evolution of the Porsche 911 in the past 25 years — or, more precisely, the past 26 years, as the 1999 model year marked the arrival of the 996 generation, which was the first water-cooled 911. If you’re not familiar with the significance of Porsche’s switch from air cooling to water cooling, just know it was a really big deal — and I reckon the new 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS T-Hybrid comes close to matching it for historical importance.

10 Biggest News Stories of the Week: Rivian R2 Launches to Top, Toyota 4Runner Rises
With the upcoming Rivian R2, the luxury electric brand seems to be making a play for greater mainstream acceptance. The all-new mid-size SUV is expected to carry a base price around $45,000 — roughly half the price of the pricier trims of the other vehicles in its lineup. And the planned Launch Edition expected to hit dealerships early next year won’t be the fully loaded variant such editions typically are, but instead a mid-level version more in line with what shoppers will likely end up choosing. We’ve got all the details on the R2 in Cars.com’s most popular news article of the past week.

Automakers Are Throwing Incentives at EVs to Drive Sales
If you were hoping to use the federal EV tax credit to help with the price of a new EV, we’re sad to report that you’re out of luck, as the tax credit ended Sept. 30. We’ve now entered a new era where EVs have to make a case to customers on merits alone, just like any other vehicle.

How Much Is the 2026 Jeep Compass?
A year ago, Jeep announced that a new Compass was coming for the 2026 model year. That vehicle was revealed this past May, but it is not on sale in the U.S. yet due to unstable tariffs on vehicles imported into the country. (The next-gen vehicle is built in Canada.) And so, for 2026, Americans get the old Compass, which is now in its 10th model year.
These Cars Have Been Discontinued for 2026
The automotive industry has had a rocky year with a rollercoaster of tariffs and new electric-vehicle policies affecting automakers’ short- and long-term product and manufacturing plans. The turmoil has meant the end of the road for some models and a couple of trim levels, as well as murkiness for the fate of some others. Below is a list of cars that won’t see 2026 in alphabetical order.

2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Quick Spin: This Is the One You Want
The Hyundai Palisade has long been a favorite of the Cars.com Editorial team, winning multiple awards over the years and serving as a trusty long-term test vehicle (albeit one with a lingering odor), so when a new one comes along, we take note. The redesigned 2026 Palisade is bigger, more luxurious, and more packed full of technology and family-friendly creature comforts than ever before. It’s also more expensive than ever, too, and while the Palisade’s interior tech has been keeping pace with the latest state-of-the-art technology, we can’t really say the same for its gas powertrain.

A new Nissan Sentra bowed for the 2026 model year, sporting refined, upscale styling outside and in. There’s more standard equipment now, and the range-topping SL trim returns. While the base price increases $810 from the 2025 model, the Sentra remains among the most affordable new cars available.

Kia Shows Off 2027 Telluride’s Bold New Look Ahead of Los Angeles Auto Show Debut
Kia’s flagship gas-powered SUV, the Telluride, is getting a big update for the 2027 model year, and the South Korean brand has lifted the cover on what we’ll see when it makes its in-person debut at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. The new Telluride embodies what Kia calls its “Opposites United” design ethos that’s both rugged and sophisticated with curves and angles. We’re not sure where we stand on that idea, but the new Telluride’s look certainly does appear evolutionary instead of revolutionary, in a break from what Kia has done for a lot of its latest designs.
Hands-Free Driving Tech Isn’t as Great as You Might Think
Semi-autonomous hands-free driving technology has been heralded as the future by major automakers. The goal is to take the stress out of driving by allowing people to use tech that lets the car cruise and perform stopping and lane changes while the driver relaxes attentively. However the reality of some of the most popular systems is very different: Crashes, lawsuits and even deaths have sparked a debate of just how safe these systems can be for owners to use.

2026 Nissan Sentra Review: Long Live the Sedan
Oh, goodness — a new sedan! How lovely. Hey, with the indefatigable popularity of the SUV, any refresh, rework or reiteration of the standard sedan is worth celebrating — especially when it’s as visually sharp as the new 2026 Nissan Sentra, which will have a starting price that’s well under $30,000 when it goes on sale (expect to pay just $23,645 for the cheapest Sentra). Great value, but my cheers are slightly unsettled, as that’s just $280 less than the more versatile Kicks SUV.
